A recent study shows that Mexico City ranks second, Monterrey third, and Guadalajara fifth in property prices in Latin America, highlighting rising costs in the region.

A study by the Center for Financial Research at Torcuato Di Tella University and the site Inmuebles24 revealed that Mexico claimed three positions in the top 5 cities with the most expensive housing per square meter in Latin America.

According to the report, Mexico City was very close to leading the list of cities with the most expensive housing in the region, establishing itself as the second capital with an average of $2,666 dollars or $52,387 Mexican pesos per square meter. Monterrey, Nuevo León, occupied the third position with an average price of $2,592 dollars or $50,933 pesos per square meter, followed by Guadalajara, Jalisco, in fifth place with $2,369 dollars or $46,551 pesos per square meter.

The study highlighted that Montevideo, Uruguay, surpassed Mexico City and led the list with a record value of $3,330 dollars or $65,434 Mexican pesos per square meter.

In contrast, Quito, Ecuador, was identified as the capital with the most economical square meter in Latin America, with an average price of $1,215 dollars. Rosario, Argentina, ranked as the second most affordable city for purchasing a home, with an average price of $1,628 dollars per square meter, followed by Córdoba, Argentina, and Panama, Panama, with costs of $1,628 and $1,804 dollars per square meter respectively.
