Mexico's Ministry of Energy stated that the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LP) is guaranteed throughout the country. National production and imports of this fuel are operating normally. This is a matter of supplying the entire area, an industry representative said. Earlier on Thursday, Minister of Energy Rocío Robles also announced that the gas supply is secured across the Republic. She assured that all areas have gas and estimated that by next week, distribution storage tanks can be refilled. However, despite government statements, tension between the population and distributors persists. This logistics issue was not the only factor of disruption, as supply in Michoacán has also been affected by recent protests and blockades.
