Mexican company Ollamani, listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange, announced on Tuesday the formation of a strategic alliance with the global investment fund General Atlantic to accelerate the next stage of growth for Club América and Estadio Banorte, one of the country's most emblematic sports venues.
The operation will be carried out through a new entity that will concentrate the ownership of both assets, as well as the land adjacent to the stadium. According to the information released, Ollamani will retain control of the project with a 51% stake, while General Atlantic will hold the remaining 49%.
The transaction was structured with an enterprise value of 490 million dollars, subject to customary adjustments at closing, and the proceeds obtained will allow Ollamani to distribute value to its shareholders, in accordance with the corresponding authorizations.
The alliance also includes Kraft Analytics Group, a firm specializing in analytics and fan experience, with the aim of strengthening the relationship with fans and expanding the commercial, technological, and management capabilities of the group. Emilio Azcárraga, controlling shareholder of Ollamani, will serve as the executive president of the new entity, ensuring continuity in the long-term strategy.
The venue recently signed a multi-year naming rights contract with Banorte, which reinforces the visibility and predictability of its long-term income, it was assured in the press release.
General Atlantic, which has invested nearly 3 billion dollars in Mexican companies since 2015, highlighted that the operation combines an iconic sports franchise with global experience in business growth and scaling.
The closing of the transaction is subject to the approval of regulatory authorities and the shareholders' meeting of Ollamani.
Finally, the Ollamani communiqué stated that with this alliance they seek to position themselves at the intersection of sports, entertainment, and innovation, at a key moment marked by the transformation of the sports business and the proximity of high-impact international events, such as the 2026 World Cup.
Club América, for its part, reported that this alliance reinforces its vision of sustained growth on and off the field, while consolidating a more robust financial and operational platform.
Founded in 1916, the team has won more than 40 national and international titles and has one of the largest fan bases on the continent, with more than 45 million followers between Mexico and the United States.
In parallel, Estadio Banorte -which will be the venue for the inaugural match of the FIFA 2026 World Cup- is undergoing a comprehensive modernization process focused on infrastructure, hospitality, technology, and sustainability.
