Mónica Reyes Fuchs, Secretary of Tourism for Morelos, was in charge of receiving a new award at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2018 in Madrid. The “Picnic in Morelos” project, developed by the secretariat led by Reyes Fuchs, won the Gourmet Tourist Excellencies 2018 award. Reyes Fuchs emphasized that this is their third consecutive win. “It is a world benchmark for all involved in the tourism sector who develop their activity with the goal of being excellent,” she stated. The gourmet category recognizes projects related to gastronomy, a practice deeply linked to tourism worldwide. This award was won by outperforming six other countries. The Secretary highlighted that the combination of natural settings and the enjoyment of exquisite Morelos cuisine, both traditional and fusion, as well as interesting activities like horseback riding or cycling, make “Picnic in Morelos” an attractive and unique product worthy of this award. Now, Mónica Reyes Fuchs's management at the head of the Secretariat continues to add awards. It should be recalled that last year, Reyes Fuchs received the award for Best International Active Tourism Product 2017 for Tepoztlán Pueblo Mágico, outperforming tourist experiences from Guanajuato, Thailand, and China. On that occasion, also in Madrid, Spain, Reyes Fuchs acknowledged that it is a recognition of the work of more than 45,000 families dedicated to tourism in Morelos, who, on behalf of Mexico, receive an award for their commitment to diversifying the offer with high standards of quality and warmth. “Four years ago, a clear goal was set in the government of Graco Ramírez, with strategies that take into account the private sector and communities,” she added.
