XXXI Tamale Fair in Coyoacán

XXXI Tamale Fair, organized by the National Museum of Popular Cultures, will be held from January 29 to February 2, 2025, at the following address: Miguel Hidalgo No.289, Colonia Del Carmen, in the Coyoacán area, where everyone can enjoy a variety of tamales and traditional drinks.

There will be more than 50 exhibitors from different states of Mexico, such as Chiapas, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Michoacán, Puebla, and Yucatán, as well as participants from Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras, and Venezuela.

Each region will present its interpretation of this dish made with corn dough, including traditional tamales with mole, cheese with sour cream, black or green variations, as well as exotic offerings like zacahuil and tamales with meat, including alligator or curundas, which represent a triangular shape and come from the state of Michoacán.

For a complete experience, one can enjoy drinks like champurrado, atole, different aguas-frescas, and arroz con leche. Don't miss the opportunity to visit this unique fair and immerse yourself in a wealth of flavors and traditions.

This event honors the richness of gastronomic heritage and traditions related to the Day of the Dead, deeply rooted in Mexican culture. According to the UNAM Fund, this celebration marks the end of the religious cycle that began on December 24 with the birth of the Child Jesus and has continued with the Rosca de Reyes on January 6.
