Juárez, Nuevo León, December 8, 2025. — In a joint effort to address the historical backlog in the northern zone of Juárez and to build one of the most important social projects of the current administration in record time, the mayor of Juárez, Félix Arratia Cruz, in coordination with the Secretariat of Equality and Inclusion and the Institute for the Construction of Educational and Sports Infrastructure of Nuevo León (ICIFED), laid the first stone of the Community Center in the Valle Santa Isabel colony. This new space will benefit over 6,000 residents in the sector. The new meeting point will be located in Parque Santa María and will feature a lactation room, a medical office, a dining hall, an Equality and Inclusion module, classrooms for workshops, an administrative area, restrooms, a patio, a multipurpose room, and a recreational area, consolidating itself as a key point for the comprehensive care of families. "Our commitment is clear: for the families in the northern zone to have what they need to live better," stated Arratia Cruz. He added that the new space will allow bringing municipal services closer to the community, such as workshops, training, psychological guidance, medical care, and brigades, as well as areas designed for learning and recreation. "This type of project creates the conditions to advance in equality and build a better environment for everyone," added Arratia Cruz. He also mentioned that thanks to the excellent planning from the beginning of the current administration, more high-impact projects are expected in the area, significantly improving the living conditions for the thousands of citizens residing in the colonies of northern Juárez. It is worth noting that in addition to the community center, the Municipal Government is advancing in the construction of a new Unity Space in the same area, which will be inaugurated soon and will feature the municipality's first skate park, thus reinforcing the strategy for social fabric recovery in that zone. The Secretary of Equality and Inclusion, Martha Herrera, highlighted that this project arises directly from the requests of Mayor Félix Arratia and the President of DIF Juárez, Mónica Oyervides Acosta, who emphasized the urgent need to provide the area with a dignified space where girls, boys, young people, older adults, and families could develop fully. "Since his administration began, Juárez is another city," affirmed Herrera, underlining the importance of the joint work between the municipality and the Government of Nuevo León. The mayor of Juárez, Félix Arratia Cruz, stressed that the construction of the new space is projected to be completed in 150 days and will allow bringing various municipal services closer to the community. The Secretary of Equality and Inclusion, Martha Herrera, recognized that the work, an initiative of the mayor and the DIF president, will transform one of the largest areas of Juárez. "The work that his mayor has done, bringing opportunities for everyone, is worthy of recognition," she said. "We want to be a government that is close, that listens, and responds."
