Holy Week in Mexico began with cold weather and rain for most of the country, due to moisture from the coasts, low-pressure channels, and the passage of cold front 42. Between Sunday 29 and Tuesday 31 March, a polar air mass, combined with cold front 42, will affect areas with low temperatures at night and early morning. An upper-level trough, low-pressure channels, and a subtropical jet stream will be responsible for heavy rains of up to 75 millimeters with lightning and hail, as well as gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour in the southeast of the country. It is expected that from Thursday, rains will be less intense in the country, and temperatures will gradually rise as the cold fronts cease to have an effect.
In which states will there be heavy rains this week? The forecast from the Meteorological Service of the National Water Commission (Conagua) predicts that the states most affected by rains this week will be:
Heavy to very heavy rainfall (50 to 75 millimeters): Puebla, Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Chiapas.
Showers with heavy rainfall (25 to 50 millimeters): Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Michoacán, Tabasco, and Campeche.
Intervals of showers (5 to 25 millimeters): Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Morelos, Guerrero, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo.
Isolated rains (0.1 to 5 millimeters): Chihuahua, Durango, Nayarit, Jalisco, and Colima.
Probability of wet snow, in the mornings: mountainous areas above 4,200 meters above sea level in the central and eastern part of the country.
Mexico closes the week with a heatwave. Starting Thursday, April 2, temperatures are expected to rise in the country, with maximum temperatures of 30 to 45 degrees:

Maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees: Sonora, Sinaloa, Chihuahua (southwest), Durango, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Morelos, Querétaro, Hidalgo, Puebla (southwest), Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Campeche, and Yucatán.
