The Mexican government presented the registration scheme for the Universal Health Service in Mexico, through which any Mexican can go to receive medical care at IMSS, ISSSTE, or IMSS – Bienestar.
From the National Palace, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that all Mexicans must have this document, so she estimates the process will take about a year, since it involves 130 million people.
Likewise, the head of state stressed that the idea of this health strategy is that by the end of her term, any Mexican can be treated for any ailment in any state medical institution: IMSS, ISSSTE, or IMSS – Bienestar.
“What is the advantage of this? To streamline the system, for example, if we have ten or twenty CT scanners in a state, but fifteen belong to IMSS, and IMSS covers half the state and the other half is covered by IMSS – Bienestar, which only has two, obviously there will be saturation,” she commented.
