In northern Mexico, at present, construction is underway around ten centers for temporary placement at the border with the United States in anticipation of the possible deportation of Mexicans, which was announced by the new U.S. President Donald Trump.
One of the ministers of Mexico stated: "We cannot ignore the possibility of mass deportation of Mexicans, and therefore we are taking measures to ensure their temporary placement and to provide humanitarian assistance in accordance with international standards."
The centers are planned to be established in the Mexican states through which the highest number of deported migrants from the U.S. usually pass. It is expected that these structures will provide basic services, such as food, medical assistance, and the possibility of formalizing temporary work.
