Man sentenced for killing 32 deer in Puebla

A man was sentenced to six years in prison for the death of 32 deer in ‘Volcanic Park’ in the municipality of Chalchicomula de Sesma, Puebla. The State Attorney General reported that the perpetrator, identified as Ricardo ‘N’, committed this act of animal cruelty in retaliation for his dismissal from the park in June 2022.

According to the authorities, Ricardo ‘N’ entered the park at night with the intention of seeking revenge, and it was determined that the evidence collected was sufficient to link him to the crime of animal cruelty. After evaluating the evidence presented, he was sentenced to six years in prison to be served in the Social Reintegration Center, as well as a fine and the obligation to cover the costs associated with the damage caused.

The Attorney General revealed that Ricardo ‘N’ deliberately released a pack of dogs with the intent for them to attack the deer residing in the park, resulting in the death of the 32 animals. The case was reported to the relevant authorities, initiating an investigation that led to the conviction of the perpetrator.
