
Benjamín Belmont, accused of planning the murder of his wife Paula in the Iztapalapa mayor's office to collect her insurance and a monthly pension of $30,000, was captured by capital authorities in collaboration with the police of Jalisco. According to initial reports, Belmont led the assassins to where Paula was, who was stabbed at the scene.
Communicator Antonio Nieto detailed that the Attorney General's Office of Mexico City prepared the case to capture the accused, who had fled to Jalisco to evade justice. It was mentioned that Benjamín acted with premeditation to take over the businesses that his wife and he had built with her money.
In an update on the case, it was reported that Benjamín was already in a relationship with another woman and was living with her in Jalisco, despite this, he ordered the murder of his wife and the businesses they shared. After committing the crime, the accused feigned grief over the loss of Paula.
Crime journalist Antonio Nieto detailed that authorities managed to apprehend Benjamín 'N' on January 29, after locating him in Jalisco and arresting him with the help of the local Attorney's Office.
