Protest Against Trump's Immigration Policies in LA

In front of the United States Embassy in Mexico, María Gracia from the 'Binational Coalition vs Trump' expressed her rejection of Donald Trump's immigration and trade policy, calling it blackmail. According to her, there is an observable advance of fascism worldwide, with leaders protecting the most powerful layers of their countries at the expense of workers.

Mario Caballero, a member of the coalition, mentioned that the persecution for ideological differences and sexual preferences, as well as the repression experienced in downtown Los Angeles, are concerning signs of the direction some governments want to take.

The Coalition lamented the imposition of a 25% tariff by the United States as a form of punishment to several countries, including Mexico, and denounced the fear this measure creates in millions of families due to deportation raids on citizens. Although President Claudia Sheinbaum announced the temporary suspension of these tariffs following a call with Trump, the Coalition considers it blackmail and has called for a boycott against American products such as Coca Cola, McDonald's, and Nestlé.

The commercial boycott known as 'A Day Without Immigrants' will take place starting May 1 of this year in response to the aggressive immigration and trade policies of the Trump administration.
