During a Cabinet dialogue about the tariff pause agreement with President Donald Trump, Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted her emotion upon receiving support from business chambers, governors, deputies, senators, and communities.
Amid the imminent threat of tariffs, various options and strategies were explored to persuade Trump to abandon his idea. After a 40-minute call with the U.S. president, Sheinbaum appeared calm and confident in reaching a mutually beneficial agreement.
The Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard Causabón, praised the president's work in securing the agreement, which initially had low expectations of success. Following this, one of Sheinbaum's priorities is to promote the Mexico Plan for the productive and economic growth of the country, highlighting the importance of the "Made in Mexico" campaign.
Francisco Cervantes Díaz, president of the Coordinating Business Council, reiterated the entrepreneurs' support for Sheinbaum in light of Trump’s threats. In a meeting with entrepreneurs, Cervantes Díaz praised the president's firm dialogue stance, emphasizing serenity and unity as a nation in challenging moments in the bilateral relationship with the United States.
