The vocalist of the band Zoé, León Larregui, has generated controversy on social media by asking Claudia Sheinbaum to implement visas for Americans wishing to enter Mexico. This is not the first time Larregui has expressed his views on political issues, as he has previously shown support for Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
In messages published on social media, León Larregui considered AMLO to be the future of the country and criticized the parties that were in power before the candidate from the National Regeneration Movement. Over the years, the singer has shown his support for López Obrador, both in 2012 and in 2018, during the presidential elections.
On the other hand, Larregui has also expressed criticism towards politicians like Marcelo Ebrard, whom he has questioned regarding his management in Mexico City during his term as head of government. In contrast to his support for AMLO, the singer has been critical of Ebrard in the past.
During a concert at the Auditorio Nacional in 2018, León Larregui urged attendees to vote for Andrés Manuel López Obrador, stating that he was the best option for the future of the country. Additionally, in a recent social media message, the singer has requested Sheinbaum to implement visas for American citizens wishing to enter Mexico, as well as other measures in response to actions from the United States.
Among Larregui's proposals are changing the name of 'gringas' to 'thieves', requesting visas for Americans, not consuming Coca-Cola products, and advocating for the unification of Central American countries to reclaim the Panama Canal.
