In an interview for Venga la Alegría, Boneta highlighted the importance of freedom of expression and mentioned that, although the lawsuit does not derail the project, it does affect that freedom, as the series combines real aspects with fictional ones.
Issabela Camil's lawyer stated that they are waiting for Netflix to remove the intimate scenes referring to Sergio Mayer's wife, as ordered by the Prosecutor's Office. After the deadline given to the streaming platform has passed, they are awaiting additional measures agreed upon by the control judge.
In response to Boneta's statements, Sergio Mayer criticized the actor for, according to him, speaking without knowledge of the laws and for violating Issabela Camil's rights by using her image without authorization. Mayer stated that Boneta lacks legal understanding and that, although he has done well in his career, he should inform himself before making comments about it.
Issabela Camil's husband rejected the idea that there is any influence in favor of his wife in the legal case against the Luis Miguel series, insisting that it is a matter of violation of privacy and a person's rights. Mayer described Boneta's response to the lawsuit as misogynistic and emphasized the importance of recognizing the error and providing reparations to the victim, should she choose to.
