The president of the PRI in Querétaro and federal deputy, Abigail Arredondo Ramos, urged the federal government to abandon patriotic rhetoric and present concrete solutions for security. She pointed out that the country is facing a crisis due to the lack of effective strategies and indifference towards Mexican families, as evidenced by the budget cuts in security.
"The PRI demands results, not excuses. The safety of Mexicans cannot be a bargaining chip in Morena's agenda," she emphasized, while criticizing the negligence and improvisation of the current government. According to data from INEGI, the perception of insecurity has increased, with 61.7% of citizens considering living in their cities to be unsafe.
Arredondo lamented that in 2025 the budget for the Ministry of Public Security was reduced by 36.2%, which impacts the work of key institutions. She highlighted that regions like Sinaloa, Tamaulipas, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Tabasco, and Chiapas are experiencing an alarming situation, with rising homicides, displaced communities, and a loss of trust in local governments.
Regarding the decision of the United States and Canada to classify Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations, the president of the PRI in Querétaro stated that this reflects the lack of confidence in Mexico’s ability to combat organized crime. Moreover, she warned about the potential economic and diplomatic consequences for the country that could arise from this classification.
