Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that there are no joint security operations between Mexico and the United States. She emphasized that there is only an information exchange, not joint actions. Sheinbaum commented on the visit of FBI Director Kash Patel to Mexico, during which one of the ten most wanted persons was arrested and a Canadian linked to drug trafficking was handed over. She also denied statements that the arrest of Canadian Ryan Wedding was the result of a joint operation, noting that he had surrendered voluntarily at the U.S. Embassy. "There are no joint operations. What exists is information that some U.S. agency or the Northern Command can provide to Mexican forces to locate someone," she said.
