Nineteen U.S. Marine Corps elements will arrive in Mexico on February 15 and depart on April 16. They will arrive on a C-130 Hercules military aircraft and will be based at the Marine Infantry Specialized Training Center in San Luis Carpizo, Campeche, and at the Naval Sector Carmen in Ciudad del Carmen. The main objective of the U.S. Marines' presence is to carry out joint training exercises called "Improving the Capabilities of Special Operations Forces". During these activities, nineteen Navy SEALs will collaborate with the Mexican Navy to strengthen strategic interoperability and regional security. The list of tasks includes updating infiltration techniques, improving surveillance and reconnaissance methods in hostile environments, and enhancing combat skills in urban settings. Other objectives include refining convoy tactics, improving precision shooting and reaction capabilities, updating sniper procedures, and training in maritime infiltration, coastal raids, and modern tactical combat casualty care.
