The Mexican Armed Forces seized a clandestine plane in Oaxaca, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, reported this Wednesday. Through social media, he highlighted the seizure of 534 packages of cocaine, which translates to millions of doses of the drug that were to be sold on the streets. Two vans were also secured. In a statement from the SSPC, it was reported that personnel from the said agency detected the trajectory of an aircraft conducting an unauthorized flight in the southeast of Tapachula, Chiapas, so immediately aircraft were deployed for its verification and identification. After aerial surveillance, the landing of the plane was detected in the locality of Huamúchil, municipality of San Dionisio del Mar, Oaxaca, where security forces arrived. At the scene, an aircraft, two vans, and 534 packages containing cocaine, each with an approximate weight of one kilogram, were secured. The vehicles, the aircraft, and the drugs were made available to the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will integrate the investigation file and follow up on the inquiries. The above was secured as a result of the permanent surveillance of national airspace maintained by the Secretariat of National Defense, through the Air Force and the National Guard, the official highlighted. The coordinated operation involved elements from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), Attorney General's Office (FGR), National Guard (GN), and Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).
