MORENA deputy Ricardo Monreal commented on the departure of his colleague Sergio Mayer from Congress. According to Monreal, Mayer notified him about his participation in the reality show 'La Casa de Los Famosos' 15 days ago, and he approved the decision, deeming it logical. 'I knew about this several days ago, he told me he had received an invitation and would ask for leave, I told him it was the right decision,' Monreal confirmed. He also emphasized that he has no negative comments on Mayer's work in the legislature, describing him as a cautious and disciplined party member. At the same time, Monreal noted that the MORENA leadership will likely step up the review of candidate profiles ahead of the 2027 elections. 'I wish MORENA to select its candidates and leaders very carefully,' he added. 'This is one of the fundamental issues for our party.'
