It is not true that drug trafficker Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias 'El Mencho', recorded an audio blaming model María Julissa for betraying him before he was killed, despite what users on social networks are claiming as they spread a video with a voice digitally generated by artificial intelligence.
Publications on social networks such as Facebook and X share a clip that contains what is supposedly the last will of the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), stating that the model sold him out and orders her and her family to be killed.
“Listen to me well, wey, we got hit (…) María Julissa sold us (…) if you don’t contact her, send to break all her lineage,” is heard in the supposed audio of the drug trafficker.
“ATTENTION: At the last moment, what could be El Mencho’s last audio before his descent (sic) is leaked,” a user comments on X about the piece, which has gone viral following recent reports on the operation.
FACTS: The alleged recording of El Mencho spread on social networks is not authentic and shows clear signs of digital manipulation, as confirmed by a review of the audio by EFE Verifica and a forensic analysis tool.
An AI-generated audio
First, a thorough analysis reveals that the audio lacks the naturalness of the human voice, showing a robotic and monotonous feel characteristic of voice synthesis programs.
On the other hand, an advanced search with keywords in the media and a review of the official channels of the security forces yields no evidence of the existence of this leak.
Likewise, there is no record that any official or police authority in Mexico has validated or disseminated this material as part of the evidence from the operation.
The model denies the involvement
Meanwhile, the Mexican model María Julissa — directly mentioned in the audio — has spoken out about the various accusations she has received to deny any involvement in the capture of the drug trafficker.
Through a statement published on her Instagram profile, the content creator described the situation as false and asked her followers to be cautious of disinformation.
“Do not fall for fake news and always consult reliable and official sources,” the model stated in her response to the viralization of the rumor.
In conclusion, the audio attributed to El Mencho is false. It is a digital creation made with artificial intelligence, and there is no official or journalistic record that the drug trafficker recorded such a message before being killed.
