According to information from the Security Cabinet, the detainee, identified as Yoexy “N”, had an active arrest warrant in Tampa, Florida, for the crime of conspiracy to distribute drugs. The arrest was made in the municipality of Benito Juárez, in the Gran Santa Fe II colony, following intelligence operations and information exchange with US authorities. Elements of the Navy, Secretariat of National Defense, National Guard, Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, Attorney General's Office, and state authorities participated in the operation. The subject was located during surveillance patrols on Gran Canaria and Cartagena streets, where agents stopped him to conduct a search. After the inspection, a motorcycle was also secured. Authorities reported that the detainee did not prove his legal stay in the country, so he was handed over to the National Institute of Migration for the corresponding procedures. The Public Ministry will determine his legal situation, while the process for his transfer to the United States, where he is required by the authorities, is being monitored.
