Guanajuato presented “Haho”, the official mascot for the 2026 CONADE National Olympics, an endemic fox that will represent the athletes during the sporting event.
The character stands out for its youthful design: a plush fox with reddish and white tones, large blue eyes, and a friendly expression, dressed in a blue and white sports uniform, matching sneakers, and a medal around its neck with the competition's insignia.
The presentation was led by Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, accompanied by the director of the State Sports Commission, Yendy Cortinas López, as part of the preparations for the national event.
“Haho” will be given to the medalists as part of the event's identity, accompanying awards and activities at the various venues.
The announcement was made after Guanajuato was confirmed as the host of the 2026 National Olympics, one of the country's most significant youth sporting events.
Local identity with a sports focus
The mascot draws from an element of the regional fauna and adapts it to a visual language close to young people, integrating as a symbol of competition, effort, and recognition.
In addition to its presence at ceremonies, “Haho” is expected to be part of the official image in spaces, materials, and dynamics related to the event.
For reference, Guanajuato has already incorporated symbolic figures in national sporting events. During the 2016 National Olympics and National Youth Olympics—when the state served as one of the main venues alongside entities like Guerrero, Querétaro, and Mexico City—the mascots “Benny” and “Yollotol” were presented. The first was associated with sports promotion and general event activities, while “Yollotol” was used in the context of the National Paralympics, reinforcing inclusion and representation across various disciplines.
