The accused will remain in preventive detention until the criminal case concludes. Mauricio 'N' was the partner of Estefany Judith, whom he murdered with two stab wounds to the neck, according to data presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office. The Prosecutor's Office also confirmed signs of sexual violence in the victim, due to injuries found in her intimate area, which were decisive in her death and the loss of the baby she was expecting, at four months of gestation. The Attorney General requested a period of three months for additional investigations, during which Mauricio 'N' will remain in prison.
During the hearing, family members of the victim were present, who called for justice not only for Estefany Judith and her baby but for all women who suffer violence. "The Prosecutor's Office will continue to investigate and support the family affected by these events. This was mentioned after the verdict was announced by the Judge."
Estefany Judith Ramírez, 21 years old, paramedic of the Red Cross of Abasolo, disappeared on February 5, 2025. She had left her home in the community of Estación Joaquín stating that she was heading to the Municipal Transit offices in the main square, next to the Municipal Presidency of Abasolo. The last time she was seen was near the Macrina Uribe elementary school, located less than 100 meters from the municipal offices, towards which she was heading.
After the report of her disappearance, search efforts were initiated in which the now-accused Mauricio 'N' participated, who was a municipal police officer and collaborated in the search efforts. The corpse of the young paramedic was found lifeless a week after her disappearance, on February 12. Two days later, the Attorney General of the State of Guanajuato fulfilled an arrest warrant against Mauricio 'N' for disappearance, femicide, and abortion of Estefany Judith Ramírez.
The municipal president of Abasolo, Job Eduardo Gallardo, spoke out against the impunity in this case, claiming that justice will be served with the full weight of the law. In a virtual hearing, Mauricio 'N' was linked to the process for the indicated crimes. The mayor reiterated that in Abasolo, violence against women will not be tolerated, and any aggressor will be identified, pursued, and handed over to the authorities, thus ensuring the resolution of this crime.
