Four people were shot dead inside a private ambulance in a violent incident registered early this morning on the federal highway Acapulco-Pinoteca Nacional, near the town of Bella Vista, in the rural region of Acapulco, Guerrero. The bodies were subsequently transported to the SEMEFO of Acapulco after the corresponding proceedings.

According to police sources, the four men, who had previously been shot in Ayutla de Libres (Costa Chica), were being transported in the ambulance to the El Quemado Hospital in Acapulco for medical attention. However, during the journey, the emergency vehicle was intercepted by armed men in a taxi.

The assailants forced the paramedics to exit the vehicle and then executed the four injured individuals inside the ambulance. A relative of the victims was also injured by the gunfire, while the paramedics were unharmed.

The incident was reported around 5:00 AM, when the assailants opened fire on the occupants of the ambulance, leaving the victims dead. The Attorney General's Office of the State of Guerrero has opened an investigation for homicide and injuries, while authorities continue the inquiries to locate those responsible for the attack.

Doctors, nurses, and administrative staff at hospitals in Guerrero have requested increased security from state and federal governments in their facilities. They report that patients injured by gunshots frequently arrive, putting their physical safety at risk. For example, recently an armed man entered the second floor of the Donato G. Alarcón hospital in Ciudad Renacimiento and shot a patient who had been injured days earlier.

Hospital workers have asked the general secretary of the union and the government of Guerrero for greater security in the facilities, without receiving a response.
