On January 23rd, several armed attacks in Acapulco led to the deaths of three workers from Coca Cola, Sigma Alimentos, and Corona. One other person was severely injured, prompting a heavy police response and investigations.


Violent Attacks Leave Three Dead in Acapulco

On the afternoon of Thursday, January 23, Acapulco, Guerrero, was the scene of a series of armed attacks that resulted in the deaths of three workers and left another seriously injured. The employees belonged to private companies such as Coca Cola, Sigma Alimentos, and Corona.

The attacks took place in different areas of the city, specifically on Costera Miguel Alemán, Ejido, and Hogar Moderno, causing alarm among the population and requiring a significant police and authority presence.

In the first incident, which occurred around 5:00 PM on Tadeo Arredondo street, near Costera Miguel Alemán, one worker was seriously injured and was transported to a hospital. Various police forces were dispatched to the scene, including the National Guard, State Police, Investigative Police, and Municipal Police to initiate the corresponding investigations.

The third act of violence took place around 6:00 PM in the Bella Vista neighborhood, where a Coca Cola worker was shot dead in his vehicle. According to witnesses, the assailants arrived at the scene and fired directly at the victim, who died in the driver's seat. The area was secured by the police while evidence was collected for the investigation.

Half an hour later, in the Hogar Moderno neighborhood, a delivery man from Sigma was shot at while in his vehicle. Neighbors reported the gunfire that alerted the authorities. In another incident, a Corona delivery driver was shot dead while performing his duties. Armed men approached the driver and shot him repeatedly, leaving him lifeless on the public road.
