
On the morning of October 26, a tragic accident occurred on federal highway 45 Aguascalientes-Zacatecas, at kilometer 74, near the Osiris toll booth. A total of 24 people lost their lives after a collision between a passenger bus and a tractor truck.
Juan Mariquez, coordinator of the National Guard in the state, explained that the accident happened when a tractor truck lost its second trailer loaded with corn, causing the bus to lose control of its trajectory and overturn on its right side.
Rodrigo Reyes Muguerza, Secretary General of the state government, reported that five people were injured and were taken to an IMSS hospital for medical attention. The bus belonged to Omnibus de México, coming from Tepic and heading to Ciudad Juárez. It was reported that the list of injured passengers will be published.
Additionally, the state government has set up the telephone number 492 131 3055 to provide information to the family and friends of those who were traveling on the bus.
