Mexican authorities arrested three individuals on Friday, including Armando Nava Gallegos, alias 'Charro,' a regional leader, main source of violence, and head of drug distribution, extortion, kidnappings, and homicides for the criminal organization Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Aguascalientes.
Along with him, José Manuel 'N' and José 'N' were arrested following an investigation that identified two properties used by the alleged criminals as operational bases and for storing cash, vehicles, weapons, ammunition, and drugs.
Following the arrest approved by a control judge's order, the three men were handed over to the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will determine their legal status, according to a statement from the Security Forces.
According to sources, Nava Gallegos is a trusted man of drug lord Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, 'El Mencho,' the founder and leader of the criminal organization, for whose capture the U.S. government offers a reward of 10 million dollars.
The operation involved elements from the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena), National Guard (GN), and the Attorney General's Office (FGR).
The CJNG is one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in the world, with a presence in almost all states of the nation and in other countries. It is also one of the six Mexican organizations designated as terrorists by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in February, along with the Sinaloa Cartel, the Gulf Cartel, the Northeast Cartel, the Michoacán Family, and the United Cartels.
