Parents of Aitana Arrested for Murder Charges

Aitana's parents were detained this Tuesday and could be linked to the case for the murder of their daughter in a hearing scheduled for next Friday, May 9, in the municipality of Altamira, Tamaulipas.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Luis Daniel “H” and Michele Denisse “P” will face charges of Filicide, Domestic Violence, Equivalent Rape, and Rape against a minor. The couple's detention was carried out by Investigation Police assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for the Investigation of Crimes against Girls, Boys, and Adolescents, as well as Crimes against Women due to Gender (FENNAM), who executed the court order in the Ejido Miguel Hidalgo of Altamira.

The initial version regarding Aitana's homicide, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, was provided by her mother, who mentioned that a man had entered their home and subsequently murdered the girl in the early hours of Friday, May 2. However, during the investigation, it was discovered that both the girl and her six-year-old brother were victims of domestic violence, which led to the parents' detention.

The Attorney General's Office of the State of Tamaulipas has reaffirmed its commitment to not tolerate impunity in cases that threaten the life and integrity of girls and boys.
