“El Bótox” Charged with Murder of Lemon Producer Leader in Michoacán

César Alejandro “N”, alias “El Bótox”, was linked to the process for his probable responsibility in the qualified homicide of Bernardo Bravo Manríquez, leader of lemon producers from the Apatzingán Valley, which occurred on October 19, 2025. The Attorney General's Office of the State of Michoacán (FGE) indicated in a statement that the judge's control decision was made after the presentation of scientific, competent, and sufficient evidence in quality and quantity. It was stated that during the continuation of the initial hearing, held virtually because the accused is incarcerated at the Federal Social Rehabilitation Center number 1, “El Altiplano,” in the State of Mexico, the Public Ministry presented a detailed reconstruction of the facts. The Attorney General's Office explained that this reconstruction, based on investigative acts, allowed for a solid establishment of the possible participation of César Alejandro N. in the homicide of the citrus sector leader, Bernardo Bravo. The homicide occurred in an unfinished building located on a dirt road connecting Cenobio Moreno with Las Colonias, where the accused was seen entering a Toyota Tacoma truck. Although there were no witnesses who saw him shoot, investigations place “El Bótox” as the leader of the criminal group “Los Blancos de Troya,” pointed out by authorities as responsible for the violence in the region. During the hearing, the Attorney General's Office presented the testimony of a witness who assured having heard César Alejandro N. directly confess to the murder of Bernardo Bravo Manríquez. The FGE pointed out that this crime is part of a context of violence that directly impacted producers and leadership of the citrus sector, so its clarification constitutes an institutional priority to guarantee conditions of legality and security in the productive regions of the state. César Alejandro “N” was arrested on January 22 during an inter-institutional operation in the municipality of Buenavista, and was already deprived of liberty at the time the arrest warrant was fulfilled. After analyzing the evidence, the judge determined the linkage to process and ordered preventative prison, establishing a four-month period for the integration of complementary research. The Attorney General's Office of the State of Michoacán reaffirmed its commitment to act firmly, with technical rigor, and strict adherence to legality to investigate and prosecute crimes that attack against life, security, and the productive activity of the entity, guaranteeing access to justice and full respect for human rights. With this resolution, the Attorney General's Office said it seeks to consolidate the investigation and determine the full responsibility of those involved. It concluded and pointed out that together with local and state authorities, they maintain surveillance over the region to prevent new acts of violence that affect both social leaders and the productive activity of Michoacán.
