In the state of Michoacán, violent acts have been recorded including roadblocks and vehicle burnings. In response to this situation, authorities such as the National Defense, Navy Secretariat, Attorney General's Office, National Guard, and Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection have carried out coordinated actions to restore the rule of law in the region.
During an intervention in the municipalities of Apatzingán and Tarímbaro, members of the Mexican Army and the National Guard were attacked with firearm shots by criminal groups. In Apatzingán, after repelling the aggression at La Puerta de Alambre, weapons were confiscated and three aggressors were killed. In Tarímbaro, in the Ex Hacienda de Guadalupe town, three aggressors were deceased and one wounded, in addition to damage to official vehicles from gunfire impacts.
In a social media post, the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, provided a detailed report of the previous day's events. There was violence in several municipalities of Michoacán, Guanajuato, and Jalisco, with vehicle burnings, attacks on stores, blockades, and assaults on authorities, where two police officers lost their lives.
According to García Harfuch, these events are a consequence of disputes between two criminal groups over control of territories. Authorities have managed to regain control in the affected areas and have reinforced their presence to ensure safety, making arrests and deactivating explosive devices found in the area.
