Gerardo Valencia, known as 'La Silla', and Joana Lizbeth Sepúlveda were formally charged by a federal judge. The Public Prosecutor's Office accused them of crimes including deportation of a firearm, possession of ammunition exclusively for the Armed Forces, and possession of methamphetamine hydrochloride for commercial purposes.

The Attorney General's Office detained the couple in Apatzingán, Michoacán, where a firearm, ammunition, and methamphetamine were found. The operation involved elements from the FGR, the secretariats of National Defense, Citizen Security and Protection, the National Guard, and the state police.

The judge from the Federal Penal Justice Center in the State of Mexico, based in Almoloya de Juárez, decreed their formal charge, preventive detention, and two months for supplementary investigation. They are also considered extortionists of lime and avocado producers in Michoacán and are linked to the homicide of two FGR agents.

In statements from Omar García Harfuch, it is mentioned that Gerardo Valencia is the leader of a criminal organization. He is accused of extorting lime and avocado producers, as well as crimes of kidnapping and is linked to the murder of two FGR agents. In a video shared by the security cabinet, 'La Silla' is seen being transported by helicopter, with more than 10 agents guarding him during the process.
