Los Blancos de Troya, a criminal organization, have been identified as an extension of the Jalisco Cartel of Michoacán, after managing to divide a powerful enemy and absorb them into their cause, as in the case of Carteles Unidos. According to intelligence information from the Mexican government, Los Blancos de Troya emerged as a self-defense group in Michoacán but evolved into criminal activity, leading to violent confrontations. A tragic example was the homicide of Hipólito Mora, a self-defense leader, attributed to the Sepúlveda Arellano brothers.
David Saucedo, a public security consultant, mentioned that Los Blancos de Troya extorted lemon and avocado producers in Michoacán, which impacted U.S. consumers with distorted prices for these products. Saucedo explained that dismantling this criminal organization involves not only capturing its leaders, such as 'El Botox' or 'Jando', but also dismantling their political and protection base.
The capture of 'La Silla', one of the leaders of Los Blancos de Troya, in Apatzingán, Michoacán, was carried out with information from U.S. security agencies. Saucedo indicated that this capture, while relevant, does not completely dismantle the organization, as its main leader remains César Sepúlveda Arellano.
Following the designation of Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations by the United States, the Mexican government has intensified the capture of leaders of these organizations. The capture of 'La Silla' could be interpreted as a gesture towards the United States to meet its demands regarding security, migration, and commerce. Despite the detention, it is highlighted that 'La Silla' is not the main leader of Los Blancos de Troya, so there is still work to be done to completely dismantle this criminal organization.
