In the municipality of Apodaca, Nuevo León, a woman was arrested after a video surfaced showing an abandoned puppy inside a black plastic bag, causing outrage over animal abuse. In the footage, some girls try to rescue the puppy upon hearing its whimpers.
The municipal police were patrolling in the Tres Nogales neighborhood when they were informed about a suspicious bag making animal noises from a home. The girls discovered the puppy in a black bag in a corner of the house surrounded by buckets. The owner arrived at the scene and was detained, while unfortunately, the puppy passed away shortly after.
The woman allegedly poured bleach on the puppy and left it to suffocate inside the bag, being found with a bottle of bleach next to the animal. Despite neighbors recording videos showing that the puppy was alive, investigations were conducted to determine the woman's intent, who is facing charges for alleged animal abuse.
Authorities took her to the Public Ministry, while the dissemination of the videos on social media generated outrage and condemnation from the community. The woman claimed she thought the puppy was already dead; however, the evidence obtained indicates otherwise, causing dismay among neighbors and online users.
