Alfonso Javier 'C', 32 years old, son of the former deputy and former mayor of Victoria, Gustavo Cárdenas Gutiérrez, was arrested at the Monterrey airport. He is accused of sexual offenses comparable to rape, specifically for allegedly sexually abusing a 19-year-old girl over a period from 2014 to 2017. He is accused of having forced her to perform sexual acts against her will.
The arrest took place on Tuesday, April 15, around 18:00 by elements of the Investigative Police at the 'Mariano Escobedo' international airport in Apodaca, Nuevo León. Alfonso Javier 'C' was notified of an arrest warrant against him and taken to the North Social Reintegration Center number 1 (Cereso 1) in Apodaca. However, a Control judge ordered his release due to errors in the investigation, allowing him to face the process in freedom.
In a previous incident in 2016, Alfonso Javier 'C' was shot by police in San Pedro, Nuevo León. On that occasion, ignoring police instructions, he attempted to flee while accompanied by another young man. After a chase, he was caught in a department store parking lot on Eugenio Garza Lagüera Avenue. He was injured by two gunshots and had to be taken to a hospital for medical attention. It was reported that illicit substances were found in the Texas-licensed truck he was driving.
