President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her position in response to criticisms and pressures from U.S. politicians. At an event in southeastern Mexico, Sheinbaum stated that Mexico is not anyone's 'piñata' and urged U.S. politicians to take care of the problems in their own country, especially in the context of the upcoming midterm elections in the U.S.

Amid growing pressure on issues such as trade, tariffs, drug trafficking, immigration, and the binational Water Treaty, accusations were directed at Mexico by figures such as Republican Senator Tim Sheehy and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins. Sheehy accused Mexico of dumping toxic water into the Pacific, while Rollins raised concerns about the importation of Mexican livestock and the fight against the cactus moth.

"Do not use Mexico for the campaign because Mexico gives the United States many lessons in many things, in values, in ethics, in development, in many (things)," Sheinbaum remarked in Campeche, emphasizing Mexico's autonomy and strength in its international relations.

Sheinbaum also recalled Donald Trump's praise for the campaign against drug consumption in Mexico and highlighted that while Mexico has challenges in this area, the main problem lies in consumption in the U.S. Furthermore, the president noted that with the 'Fourth Transformation' led by López Obrador, Mexico has regained its dignity and strength, showing pride in the current political process.

In a context of tensions and criticisms between Mexico and the United States, Sheinbaum stressed the importance of her country's dignity and autonomy, emphasizing the achievements and empowerment of the Mexican people today.
