Normalist students from the Rural Normal School Raúl Isidro Burgos of Ayotzinapa expressed their rejection of the murder of activist Marco Antonio Suástegui, an opponent of the La Parota dam, which occurred recently, causing damage at a toll booth on the Autopista del Sol leading to Acapulco, Guerrero.

The students arrived at the Palo Blanco toll booth in at least 12 buses and spread out across the eight toll collection points. During the protest, they distributed informational flyers and allowed motorists to pass while demanding justice for Suástegui's murder.

During the demonstration, members of the Ayotzinapa Student Committee condemned the murder of the Cecop leader and called for a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice. They also remembered their deceased and missing normalist peers, committing to continue mobilizing until justice is obtained.

During the protest, the normalists caused damage to the toll booths, destroying glass, surveillance cameras, electronic equipment, and furniture. This action adds to other mobilizations they have carried out during the week demanding justice for Suástegui's murder.

Activist Suástegui was attacked in Acapulco in mid-April and died days later due to his injuries. The students have expressed their strong rejection of the murders of social activists and have urged the authorities to act to prevent impunity in cases like this.
