Public Space Recovery Operation in Cuauhtémoc

The mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, carried out an operation to reclaim public space in the Zona Rosa, specifically on Génova Street. During a tour, informal sector merchants cleared the pedestrian pathway on their own in response to dialogue with the district authorities. The local leader extended an invitation to them to hold meetings and explore alternatives that would allow them to sell their products in an orderly and legal manner.

In another operation carried out in the Doctores neighborhood, an inspection was conducted against establishments known as 'chelerías', which sell alcohol without complying with regulations. On that occasion, five verification visits were made, resulting in the suspension of three establishments due to lack of documents or civil protection programs, and one that was inactive.

From the General Directorate of Government of the administration led by Rojo de la Vega, a total of 56 chelerías have been suspended in collaboration with INVEA. Furthermore, 612 verification visits have been carried out, covering 267 commercial establishments and 81 inspections related to Civil Protection issues.

In parallel, activities were suspended at three irregular constructions located on the streets of Cholula, Fernando Montes de Oca, and México. Safety measures were imposed on six establishments due to exceeding permitted noise levels.

The mayor of Cuauhtémoc reaffirmed that her government will continue to conduct ongoing operations to ensure compliance with regulations and address citizens' demands.
