Reward for Former Anticorruption Official in Cuautla

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office of Morelos is seeking Dionicio Emanuel Álvarez Anonales, former director of the Tequesquitengo Lake Trust during the administration of Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo, offering a reward for information leading to his location. The reward amounts to 1000 UMAS, equivalent to 113,140 pesos according to the current value of the Measurement and Update Unit. This amount will be given to anyone who provides useful and truthful information to execute an arrest warrant issued by a Control Judge.

In January of this year, then legal advisor Edgar Antonio Maldonado Ceballos announced irregularities of over 40 million pesos detected by the Comptroller's Office during the handover process. Part of these irregularities includes an alleged detriment to the treasury of 19 million pesos arising from the hiring of an artist through the Tequesquitengo Lake Trust, under the management of Dionicio Emanuel Álvarez.

Additionally, in December 2024, the irregular sale of a group of lands in the Tequesquitengo Lake area was reported, benefiting high-ranking officials of Cuauhtémoc Blanco Bravo's government, including Sandra Anaya, Mónica Boggio, Gerardo Becerra, and Edgar Riu. In light of these facts, former legal advisor and current Attorney General of Justice, Edgar Maldonado, has urged the involved former public officials to return the fraudulently acquired lands.

Dionicio Emanuel Álvarez Anonales was appointed treasurer on January 1 of this year by the mayor of Cuautla, Jesús Corona Damián, but was removed from his position just six days later. Currently, the mayor is under scrutiny due to his appearance in a video alongside another mayor, Agustín Toledano Amaro of Atlatlahucan, in a meeting with an alleged drug trafficker.
