"We join in the grief that affects the journalism community in Sonora who have reached out to recover his body," the group stated in a communiqué. They also revealed that the SEMEFO in Culiacán has several unclaimed bodies, some for up to seven years.
The group identified several individuals, including Jesús Manuel Alfaro Toledo, Antonio Almazán Rubio, Juan Diego Álvaro Rodríguez, Rosario Francisco Amador Meléndrez, Felipe Ayala Moreno, Manuel Francisco Ayón Ávila, Raymundo Basurto Rodríguez, René Bautista Arenas, and Andrés Bernal Orozco, urging their families to claim the remains.
The journalist Jesús Alberto Camacho Rodríguez, 65 years old, was admitted to the SEMEFO after his body was found in the Las Flores neighborhood of Culiacán. Although details about the conditions or cause of his death have not been provided, his discovery has created shock among various search organizations.
