Governor Rocha Moya Addresses Investigations into Cuén Ojeda's Murder

The governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, stated that the Attorney General's Office of the State of Sinaloa, led by Claudia Zulema Sánchez, has not participated in the investigations related to the murder of the former rector of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, Héctor Melesio Cuén Ojeda. Rocha Moya recalled that he himself requested the intervention of the Attorney General's Office of the Republic (FGR) in the investigation, including former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In a press conference, Rocha Moya commented that he was not aware of any possible connection between Cuén Ojeda and the drug trafficker Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada. Although he considered it 'likely' that Zambada sought to meet with Cuén Ojeda, he described it as a myth. The governor mentioned that Cuén Ojeda was part of his political campaign in 2021 and held the position of Secretary of Health at the beginning of his administration, but never informed him of any relationship with Zambada.

Rocha Moya refrained from commenting on the ongoing investigations by the FGR, emphasizing his respect for the institutions and his decision not to make premature judgments.
