Wave of violence in Culiacán claims 14 lives

The Sinaloa Attorney General's Office reports that on November 13, 14 murders were recorded in Culiacán. Investigations for intentional homicide have been opened in different locations in the city, reflecting the violence crisis generated by criminal gangs.


Wave of violence in Culiacán claims 14 lives

The Sinaloa Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that the wave of violence in the state resulted in 14 deaths just on Wednesday, November 13. Six homicide investigation files have been opened.

The victims were found in different locations in the municipality of Culiacán. Seven people were discovered on the Culiacán – Mazatlán Maxipista in the Baila locality. Another person was found in Costa Rica, near the El Trébol bridge. Two people were located on the road to Sanalona, near the Carrizalejo cemetery. Additionally, one person was discovered inside the 21 de Marzo cemetery, another person in the El Manguito town of the Quila locality, and two people in the Emiliano Zapata Colony.

Furthermore, ten reports were registered at the Specialized Vehicle Theft Unit in the Central Region. In the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Forced Disappearance of Persons in the municipality of Culiacán, five reports were filed for personal liberty deprivation.

This wave of violence in Sinaloa is due to the conflict between factions of the Sinaloa Cartel, following the detention of Ismael Zambada and Joaquín Guzmán López in the United States.
