Sinaloa Governor Accuses Security Secretary of Security Strategy Failure

The governor of Sinaloa, Ruben Rocha, often repeats in private with a certain sarcasm a well-known phrase in his circle: «Omar always told me that in three months the state would be secured». This negative reference to Omar García Harfuch has intensified in recent hours, as the governor expresses his complaints about the secretary of security everywhere. The governor assures his associates that the attack on MC deputies in Culiacán is a direct blow to García Harfuch's strategy because it occurred at noon, in a public place, with many civilians around. The governor also distrusts the appearance of the former PRI leader Francisco Labastida, who told the press that the crime could have a union motive. Rocha believes that Labastida is doing a favor to the secretary's circle. Meanwhile, García Harfuch had announced two weeks ago that he would stop visiting Sinaloa every two weeks. The governor also believes there is strong tension on the ground between the secretary's envoys and the military commanders in charge of operational matters.
