In Culiacán, Sinaloa, federal and state security elements conducted an operation in the town of Ayuba, where they secured thousands of liters of methamphetamine, as well as several kilos of the same drug. This seizure is considered the largest of the current administration.
According to the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), 4,700 liters of liquid methamphetamine and an additional 269 kilos of the same drug were seized in three homes used for the production and distribution of illicit substances. This action prevented the distribution of 4.9 tons of methamphetamine, which would equate to nearly 5 billion doses, causing an estimated economic impact of 1.462 billion pesos to criminal organizations.
The properties where this illicit activity was taking place have been sealed and are under police custody, while the Public Prosecutor's Office is kept informed to properly handle the illicit substances.
The operation involved the participation of various institutions such as the Secretariat of National Defense, the Navy, the Attorney General's Office, the National Guard, and the State Attorney General's Office. This seizure represents a milestone in the fight against drug trafficking in the country.
In another event, the Attorney General's Office in Jalisco managed to link Jaime "M" to the process for his alleged involvement in the crime of simple possession of methamphetamine after being arrested consuming the drug on a public street in the San Eugenio neighborhood of Guadalajara. The arrested individual was found in possession of 51 grams and six milligrams of methamphetamine, a pipe, and a lighter. Jaime "M" will remain in prison during the process at the Puente Grande penitentiary center, Jalisco.
