According to new information revealed by journalist José Luis Montenegro, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán, son of Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán and leader of Los Chapitos in Sinaloa, Mexico, is considering surrendering to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) due to feeling cornered. Montenegro claims to have a contact within Los Chapitos who has informed him about Archivaldo Guzmán's plan to surrender to U.S. authorities and end his situation.
Montenegro states that the leader of Los Chapitos feels pressured by the Mexican government, particularly by the crackdown on criminal organizations ordered by Claudia Sheinbaum and executed by Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Citizen Security and Protection of Mexico. It is said that Archivaldo Guzmán is experiencing moments of anxiety and lack of sleep due to the possibility of his arrest.
Amid the pressure he faces, Archivaldo Guzmán is reportedly seeking alliances and has had meetings with Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as 'El Mencho' and leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, with the intention of forming an alliance that dominates the landscape of Mexican cartels from border to border.
During an operation in Sinaloa to capture José Ángel, alias 'El Güerito,' allegedly responsible for international drug distribution routes for the Sinaloa Cartel, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán was reportedly present and escaped through a secret tunnel, according to Montenegro. Although it is speculated that he may have been injured during the escape, none of these claims have been officially confirmed by Mexican authorities and remain rumors surrounding the situation of the leader of Los Chapitos.
