In coordinated operations, personnel from the Mexican Army, National Guard, Navy Secretariat, Attorney General's Office, and state authorities located and secured two improvised explosive devices in the municipalities of Culiacán and Escuinapa, Sinaloa. The objects were secured and placed under the custody of the authorities for their deactivation. In both cases, the authorities reported the incidents to the Attorney General's Office to initiate the corresponding investigations. The Government of Mexico and the State Government reiterated their commitment to 'safeguarding the heritage of Sinaloan society'. Upon verification, it was confirmed that it was an improvised explosive device. No injuries were reported. The discoveries occurred during security patrols at various points in the state. In a second operation, carried out in the village of Tecualilla, municipality of Escuinapa, Defense personnel found another explosive device in the undergrowth. In both cases, the devices were removed from the area to prevent risks to the population. In the state capital, military elements patrolling the area known as 'Invasion 5 de Febrero' located a metal object on one of the streets. Additionally, they urged the population to, in case of observing similar objects, 'avoid approaching and report them immediately to the emergency number 9-1-1 or to 089 for anonymous complaints'.
