In Culiacán, Sinaloa, intense clashes are taking place between two factions of the Sinaloa Cartel, 'Los Chapitos' led by Iván Archivaldo Guzmán, and 'La Mayiza', headed by Ismael Zambada Sicairos, also known as 'El Mayito Flaco'. Despite the efforts of security forces, street fighting has not ceased, resulting in the closure of businesses, the suspension of school activities, and forcing the civilian population to take refuge in their homes.
According to information from Illicit Investigations, 'El Mayito Flaco' has gathered key figures from organized crime at a ranch in El Salado, Sinaloa, including Fausto Isidro Meza Flores, alias 'El Chapo Isidro', leader of the Beltrán Leyva Cartel. This alliance between 'La Mayiza' and 'El Chapo Isidro' poses a significant challenge for 'Los Chapitos'.
Ismael Zambada's objective goes beyond Culiacán, as he seeks to expand into key territories, including rural municipalities connected to Mazatlán and the Golden Triangle. On the other hand, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán has the support of loyal armed groups like 'Los Chimales', 'Los del 40', and 'Los Cascos'. It is rumored that Aureliano Guzmán Loera, alias 'El Guano', has decided to support his nephews in this war, which has caused previous tensions in the region.
Amid these clashes, the population of Culiacán and its surroundings finds itself caught in a crossfire that threatens the security and stability of the region. With the intensification of the struggle for control of Sinaloa, violence continues to rise, and uncertainty looms over the local community.
