The Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) has marked a milestone in the nationalization of medical services with the opening of a new Hemodynamics Room at the "Santiago Ramón y Cajal" General Hospital in Durango. This initiative aims to improve care for beneficiaries with cardiovascular, neuroendovascular, and peripheral vascular diseases, as well as structural heart pathologies, such as congenital heart defects.
The new room is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including devices such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), pressure guide, intracardiac ultrasound, and intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation. The main objective of this space is to reduce response time in critical situations and decrease waiting times for medical attention, allowing for more precise diagnoses and treatments.
On its first day of operations, Doctors Anuar Delahanty Delgado and Juan Carlos Núñez Fragoso successfully treated two patients diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome, who underwent coronary angioplasty with the implantation of intracoronary stents, using intravascular ultrasound to optimize the results.
The inauguration of the Hemodynamics Room was attended by the Medical Director of the Institute, Gustavo Reyes Terán, the medical subdelegate of the Representation in Durango, Marcela Pelayo Nieto, as well as the medical director and deputy director, José Luis Salazar Aranay and Luis Alfonso Gálvez Armenta, respectively. This advancement is part of the nationalization process of the Hemodynamics Service in 25 ISSSTE hospitals, with an investment of over 700 million pesos for the acquisition of 31 rooms.
