C7 Surveillance System Presented in Ecatepec

In the State of Mexico, in Ecatepec, the C7 surveillance system was presented, which incorporates artificial intelligence used by the armed forces of the United States. Considered the most advanced control center in the country, it excels in its ability to recognize a thousand faces per minute, vehicle license plates, weapon detection, and storage of information such as the Amber Alert.

The C7 will be used to combat insecurity in Ecatepec, the most populated municipality in the state with high perceptions of insecurity in the Metropolitan Area. Mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss stated that this system is unique in the country regarding surveillance and ensuring citizen security.

According to Julio Zacarías Rivera, technological advisor to the Citizen Security Directorate of Ecatepec, the C7 is capable of detecting more than a thousand faces per second, which will facilitate the search for missing persons and expedite investigations into thefts or other dangers. This system has advanced capabilities, such as license plate identification, weapon detection, and recognition of vehicles and occupants.

During the presentation, it was emphasized that the C4 system, of Russian manufacture, was dismantled for being obsolete and vulnerable, paving the way for the C7 that uses technology of the same category as that of the Pentagon. This tool is the sum of several previous systems, such as the C4 Police and the C4 Violeta, and surpasses the C5 used by the state government in terms of efficiency and surveillance capacity.
