The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) has arrested two individuals for their probable participation in a case of express kidnapping against a user of a digital transportation platform.
According to the complaint filed, on February 13, the victim requested a transportation service upon leaving the Airport of Mexico City. When arriving near a shopping plaza in Ecatepec, José Nahúm “N” and David Ishao “N”, now detained, emerged from the trunk of the vehicle and threatened the victim with a firearm and a sharp object. The assailants stripped the person of their belongings and demanded their passwords to access their banking applications. Subsequently, the suspects made cash withdrawals at an ATM and made online purchases before abandoning the victim on a dirt road in San Marcos Nepantla, municipality of Acolman.
Following the complaint, investigations were initiated that led to the identification and capture of the suspects.
In another similar case that occurred on January 31 in Tecámac, it was determined that both José Nahúm “N” and David Ishao “N” are related. In this incident, a user boarded a vehicle driven by David Ishao “N” heading to Felipe Ángeles airport, but was the victim of an express kidnapping when José Nahúm “N” also emerged from the trunk of the vehicle to threaten him.
Both individuals have been linked to the prosecution for these crimes and are in justified preventive detention, with a deadline set for the closure of the supplementary investigation.
